Conclusions:
The reason for slow uptake of SUPINE PCNL (only 20% adoption at 30years) is due to their BEST evidence suggesting:
• Supine PCNL does NOT improve outcomes
• Prone PCNL does NOT increase complications
• Patient safety concerns are theoretical and not clinically relevant
At this time there is no clear reason to adopt a supine approach, EXCEPT
