“Cut the laser fiber tip at the start of the case”
Arguments FOR cutting the laser fiber at the start:
1. Better visualization of the fiber tip
2. Higher ablation rates vs. stripped laser fiber
3. In coated fibers the ablation rate does not decrease regardless the scissor used to cut it
4. Cut (cleaved) laser fiber can be passed in a deflected scope
– Use a ball tip fiber, or pass in non-deflected position !
